About

Education, leadership, honors, and more to show a foundation outside of my direct data science and machine learning skillset.

Education

Texas A&M University

Aug 2023 – Dec 2027

M.S. Data Science (Dec 2027) — B.S. Computer Science, Honors (May 2027) — Minor in Statistics

I'm pursuing an accelerated BS/MS at Texas A&M, with a 4.0 GPA in both. My coursework spans machine learning, deep learning, data structures, software engineering, statistics, and systems: giving me a broad foundation across theory and practice.

My thesis focuses on predicting MCI-to-Alzheimer's conversion from 3D brain MRI scans, with the core research question being whether partial AUC can be optimized directly as a loss function. In the past, I have looked at using contrastive learning to reduce labeling costs for Alzheimer's as well. Outside research I'm involved in Engineering Honors programs E.D.G.E. and F.R.E.E., the Aggie Data Science Club, and intramural sports.

St. Louis University High School

Aug 2019 – May 2023

High School Diploma

I graduated with a 4.0 GPA from St. Louis University High School, where I captained the Chess Club, played varsity soccer, served in student leadership as a President Ambassador, and was inducted into the National Honor Society.

Leadership

Advancement Counselor

Aug 2023 – May 2025

Freshmen Reaching Excellence in Engineering (F.R.E.E.) — Texas A&M

Advancement Counselors at F.R.E.E.

I was selected as one of 18 Advancement Counselors out of over 750 applicants, a role I found to be both humbling and exciting. My main focus was mentoring incoming engineering freshmen through their first year, and running workshops on resumes, LinkedIn, and career planning for over 100 members. One of the highlights was co-organizing a networking trip to ExxonMobil's Houston campus, where I helped connect more than 80 students with working engineers across the company.

Inaugural Member

Jan 2024 – May 2027

Enhancing Development of Global Engineers (E.D.G.E.) — Texas A&M

Group photo with Mirage Móveis Presenting to Mirage Móveis in Brazil

E.D.G.E. is an Engineering Honors program focused on developing globally-minded engineers, and I am a part of its inaugural cohort. I've organized social events for over 90 members, and attended sessions on emotional intelligence, creative thinking, and global leadership.

The program's capstone was a consulting trip to Brazil, where our team worked with Mirage Móveis, a São Paulo furniture SMB exploring how to scale. We analyzed a market expansion strategy, scraped the city's town hall records to identify new commercial lease signings (a signal for furniture demand from incoming businesses), and restructured their sales pipeline to better convert those leads. Presenting our findings to the company's leadership, in a cross-cultural cross-language setting, was one of the more memorable experiences of my time at A&M.

Intramural Captain

Aug 2023 – Present

Texas A&M Intramurals

Intramural sports at Texas A&M

Since arriving at A&M I've captained over 15 intramural teams across soccer, volleyball, flag football, and spikeball, by handling everything from registration to game-day strategy. We've won 3 championships, but what has been most splendid is having a reliable outlet to compete, stay active, and build friendships outside of academics.

Honors

President's Endowed Scholar

Aug 2023

Texas A&M University

This is Texas A&M's most prestigious merit-based scholarship, covering full tuition. It was one of the things I was most proud to receive coming into college, and it reflects the academic work and leadership I put in throughout high school.

National Merit Finalist

May 2023

National Merit Scholarship Corporation

Reaching Finalist status placed me in the top 1% of PSAT/NMSQT test-takers nationwide. It was a meaningful validation of years of academic effort and a great way to close out high school.

B.G. Von Roeder Scholar

Aug 2023

Texas A&M University

A selective scholarship given to incoming engineering students who show strong academic potential in STEM. Receiving it alongside the President's Endowed Scholarship was a great start to my time at A&M.

Dean's Honor Roll

Multiple semesters

Texas A&M University

Earned each semester I've completed at A&M, recognizing a GPA of 3.75 or higher on a full course load. Maintaining this alongside research and extracurriculars is something I take real pride in.
